Group Name: Care Watch Toronto
Description: Care Watch is a volunteer- run, not-for-profit advocacy organization led by seniors. They work with policy makers and those who influence policy. As well, through public events and research we raise issues relative to older people. Care Watch continues its commitment to the overall wellbeing of all older people. They recognize the value of choice in living arrangements, the importance of greater involvement in decisions that affect older peoples’ lives, individually and collectively and the necessity for society to provide support to those who need it.
Their objectives are to advocate at all levels for home and community care that is comprehensive, personalized, accessible and of the highest quality and to encourage self advocacy, to enhance accessibility through education of recipients, potential recipients and their caregivers, and to encourage and promote that senior people have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.
