Group Name: Mad Students Society
Description: MSS is an organization run by and for students. MSS was created to provide peer support, advocay and self-empowerment for students experiencing mental health issues in post-secondary institutions and other centres of education.
Students meet monthly and communicate through an email listserv to support each other, discover tools for self-advocacy, and connect with our history and broader social movements.
- monthly meetings currently hosted in downtown Toronto, North York, and Hamilton at confidential locations (for Hamilton meetings visit www.hamiltonmadstudents.ca)
- additional informal meetings, social events, and gatherings organized by members on the listserv wherever they live
- also moderate an active, private, email discussion listserv open to members living anywhere in the world

Eligibility: Ages: 16 year(s) and up. Members must be students who are attending (or on leave/taking a break) or planning to attend post-secondary or adult education institutions and have personal past/present experiences with psychiatric/mental health systems * no formal screening, wait list, or documentation is required.
Where: Online listserv welcomes members living anywhere in the world — many members live in Southern Ontario
