Group Name: Oolagen – Youth Intensive Services
Description: Oolagen is an accredited mental health centre helping Toronto youth and their families. Highly-respected for the work it does, Oolagen serves as a University of Toronto teaching facility and is long-term partners with the Toronto District School Board, the Children’s Aid Society, Catholic Children’s Aid, Ministry of Children and Youth Services, as well as other children’s mental health agencies and community groups.
Oolagen’s Intensive Child and Family Program serves children, youth and their families with multiple and complex needs, who have had only limited success with traditional services and who require short-term, intensive counselling services. Eligibility for this Intensive Service is primarily based on:
- history or risk of repeated hospitalization, homelessness, family breakdown or placement outside of the home,
- history of limited success with traditional service interventions,
- needs of the child and family are complex and may include health, safety and housing issues,
- family is or has been involved with two or more service sectors, and
the client has a history of avoiding school.
