Group Name: Brain Injury Society of Toronto – ABI Family Support Program

Description: The Brain Injury Society of Toronto (BIST) supports ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) survivors and their family members. Our members are children, parents, teens, spouses, and grandparents. Membership is open to anyone in the community with an interest in the challenges that come with living with the effects of brain injury. Different areas of the brain are responsible for specific functions. Damage to the brain can result in different types and severity of deficits from one individual to another. The behaviours that emerge after an ABI are unique to each individual.

Brain injury affects the whole family. Check out our NEW family support program for young adults between the ages of 18 – 26 years and their families. Brain injury support groups are a great way to network and get support from others. This program offers two support groups: Young Adult Group and Parental Support Group.
