Group Name: Central Neighbourhood House – Family Support Program
Description: Central Neighbourhood House is a settlement house in Toronto. For the past 100 years, their team of staff and volunteers has been working hand in hand with their neighbours, offering a wide range of excellent programs for children and youth, new Canadians, families, women and seniors. They offer a family support program, childcare services, children & youth programs, women’s club, stroke survivors club, in-home services, vulnerable seniors program, community development, street survivors program, and a supportive housing initiative.
The Family Support Program works with families with children 0-12. We provide support services to families who are experiencing crisis or change. Services include assessment, informal counselling and crisis counselling, case management including information and referral, and advocacy. The Family Support Program offers:
- Parent Education
- Support for families who have children with special needs
- Community Resources pertaining to parenting, childcare, health, housing…
- Family Crisis Intervention and Mediation
- Parenting Workshops
- Information, Referral and Resources for Teens
