Group Name: Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention – Harm Reduction

Description: Founded in 1989, the Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention (Black CAP) has worked to meet its mission in our Black communities. Our work is also guided by our motto, ‘Because All Black People’s Lives Are Important’, and it stands as a reminder of the importance of our commitment to our community. The Mission of Black CAP is to reduce the spread of HIV infection within Toronto’s Black communities and to enhance the quality of life of people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Harm reduction supplies (e.g. needles, condoms, crack stems, etc.) for anyone requiring them. Harm reduction practices are dedicated to reducing the social, health, and economic harms associated with activities such as substance use, drug distribution, sex and sex work. Harm reduction commits to meeting people where they are to reduce the risk of infections, communicable diseases, overdose, and violence.
