Group Name: Muscular Dystrophy Canada

Description: Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s mission is to enhance the lives of those affected with neuromuscular disorders by continually working to provide ongoing support and resources while relentlessly searching for a cure through well funded research. Their vision is to find a cure for neuromuscular disorders in our lifetime.

Muscular Dystrophy Canada staff and volunteers are here to support you and your family. Our knowledgeable services staff can guide you to the information and resources you need. If you have a diagnosis of a neuromuscular disorder, we encourage you to register with us as a client. As a registered client, you will have access to all of our services. For registration you would complete the registration form, have a doctor sign and then return to us. There is no cost to register and the benefits are that we can provide funding towards equipment and assistive devices for clients registered with us.

We do have a networking group that meets in Toronto several times a year. It is not a disorder specific group but rather open to anyone living with or supporting those living with a neuromuscular disorder. This group is open to children, teens, adults and seniors. We typically have a guest presenter speak for the first 30 – 60 minutes and then the second half is open to share some light refreshments and socialize and network with each other. There is no cost to join this group but we do ask that people RSVP so we can know rough numbers of attendee’s.
