Description: Celebrating 75 years of success in 2012, WoodGreen Community Services is one of the largest social service agencies in Toronto. A founding United Way of Toronto member agency, WoodGreen has grown to span 32 locations and serves 37,000 people each year. WoodGreen helps people find safe, affordable housing, seniors live independently, internationally-trained professionals enter the job market, parents access childcare, children and youth access after-school programs, newcomers settle in to Canadian life, homeless and marginalized people get off the streets and youth find meaningful employment and training.

Sisters in Action holds a Homework Help after school on Wednesday’s from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Wilkinson Public School for students in Grade 1-6. The Homework Help program is pleased to accept young women from the community (between the ages of 13-24 years) who would like to volunteer with the students. Please contact Fazila Vaid if you are interested in this program. Program components provide support to young Muslim women to integrate into Canadian Society, build leadership skills and build physical and social recreation skills. Mentorship pogram for volunteer development. This program is restricted to females only giving access and equity for young Muslim women.
