Mental Illness Awareness Week – Taking Action on Mental Health

The Mental Health Commission of Canada is pleased to be once again collaborating with the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH) for Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 4-10, 2015.

We applaud CAMIMH for raising awareness and starting crucial conversations through the compelling Faces of Mental Illness campaign. This year’s Faces, who are openly sharing their experiences with mental illness, remind all Canadians to reach out and extend support and compassion to those living with mental health problems and illnesses.

The Faces share their personal stories of hope and recovery at different MIAW events across Canada in an effort to end the stigma associated with mental health problems and illnesses.

As part of the MIAW campaign, CAMIMH will host federal officials, the Faces, and others at a luncheon to celebrate the work already being done to support Canada’s mental health.

Mental Illness Awareness Week is organized every year by the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health. See the 2015 Faces of Mental Illness.
