Pieces to Pathways (P2P) is a peer-led initiative creating Canada’s first ever substance use support program for LGBTTQQ2SIA youth 16 to 29 years old in Toronto. This project is primarily supported by Breakaway Addiction Services and funded by the Toronto Central LHIN (Local Health Integration Network). Phase 1 of P2P from January to March 2015 involved conducting a needs assessment of substance use among LGBTTQQ2SIA youth 16-29 years old in Toronto. Phase 2 of P2P will be conducted from September 2015 until April 2016 and will involve initial program development and testing pilot groups.

P2P started as a conversation between Geoff and Tim. The two of them recognized that there is a gap in adequate and appropriate substance use support services for queer and trans youth in Toronto. They hope to change this so that queer and trans youth get the support they want and have their experiences affirmed not denied.
