The SHRC participated in the Mental Health Harm Reduction training held by Toronto Public Health. We delivered the session “Developing effective Peer-to-Peer Supports in your agency“.
The pilot was a success and we hope for more trainings in the future.
At the end of the session, the comments were very positive and people really enjoyed our open and honest style, the passion and commitment towards our work, the sharing of lived experience, modelling resilience, the meditation exercise/self-care, the peer support group roadblocks/challenges, Melissa Corcoran as an excellent speaker and easy to follow, and the helpful knowledge and resources shared regarding peer support groups.
We want to thank everyone that attended and Toronto Public Health for making it possible!
