The Women Transitioning to Trades and Employment Program is an academic upgrading and career exploration integrated class (funded by the Ontario Women’s Directorate and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities) that is designed to make a variety of employment options accessible to women and gender non-conforming people who are looking for safety, support, and independence. It will provide a full time integrated and supportive class, offering Grade 12 Equivalent credits in Math and Communications.
The program runs from May 2, 2016 to April 30, 2017, and includes Academic Upgrading, Career Exploration, and basic woodworking skills training. Most activities will be held at George Brown College’s St. James campus in downtown Toronto.
