The Drama Well: Co-Design Call Out

All of us are born actors. As children we make-believe that we are superheroes, royalty, police officers, animals, and even plants! Somewhere along the way, many of us stop playing make-believe, but we don’t have to! Acting is our birthright and any of us can do it! Since the earliest times in history, drama has been a powerful method of commentary on the human condition and for promoting healing and social change. It is also a great way to have fun, build skills and boost confidence!

Stella’s Place values the skills, knowledge, experience and expertise of Young Adults. We will be co-designing the Drama Well group with Young Adults. This Co-Design group will help us to envision activities, themes and ideas that will be facilitated when the Drama Well program begins in September. Facilitated by Carlos Wilson (mental health clinician) and a Stella’s Place Peer Supporter, the Co-Design group will offer ideas, input and feedback and the facilitators will determine how to best integrate this into the format, structure and function of the Drama Well group.

We are looking for 6 Young Adults to form the Co-Design group. Absolutely no experience in theatre is required! We will be choosing the 6 participants by random draw on July 29th and participants will be notified that day. Then, the Co-Design group will meet for 4 sessions on Tuesdays, from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. (August 9,16, 23, 30). Participants will be compensated for their time by a $20 honorarium per Co-Design session. Food and tokens will be provided.

If interested in registering for the random draw please email Carlos Wilson by Thursday, July 28, 2016:
