Self-Help Awareness Week
This week occurs every year in the fall to promote self-help awareness . The Ontario Self-Help Network and our twenty affiliates across the province offer a series of workshops and events to promote the benefits of self-help/mutual aid groups. [click here for more details]

Family Council Network
A Family Council is an organized, self-led, self determining, democratic group composed of family and friends of the residents of long-term care facilities. The Family Council Network provides support, training and leadership to assist each council will be unique in meeting the needs of its members, the residents and the facility.

Stroke Prevention Project

Diversify the Source, Enhance the Force Project
DSEF offered research and analysis on the potential to humanize human resource policy change by providing means for involving people from diverse backgrounds. [click here for more details]
Mutually Ours Project
Mutually Ours is an ongoing project sponsored by the Self-Help Resource Centre and funded by the United Way. The project is designed to train, mentor and mobilize community leaders from two specific communities within the Toronto area. These facilitators will in turn recruit and train other community members. The newly trained groups will be able to deal with specific community issues, applying their newly acquired skills. Ontario Self Help Network
OSHNET was established in 1992 to support the development of new and existing self-help/mutual aid initiatives across Ontario. The OSHNET program was funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care as part of the Ontario Health Promotion Resource System. [click here for more details]
