Description: Luma Care aspires to enhance, engage, and empower the members of their diverse community by providing equitable, accessible and high quality services. They also achieve excellence and provide leadership in family-centric health and social services in the community. They provide resources such as Meals on Wheels, transportation, home support, Diners Club, Home at Last, and many more.

Branson Place is an Adult Day Program for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementia. Clients participate in programs that reaffirm dignity and stimulate body and mind. In a safe, secure homelike environment, participants engage in a range of meaningful and appropriate social therapeutic programs. Branson Place provides caregivers peace of mind, knowing that their loved ones are being cared for. Caregivers can take this time for themselves to relax or complete their to-do lists.

When: Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The fee for any day is $37.75.

Alzheimer and Frail Elderly Day Program

Group Name: West Neighbourhood House- Alzheimer and Frail Elderly Day Program

Description: West Neighbourhood House will work in partnership with the community to promote personal and social change in order to achieve a safe, health and accepting society for all. To this end, we will work with our resources and the strengths of the community. West Neighbourhood House enables less advantaged individuals, families and groups in the community to gain greater control over their lives and within their community.

Our Adult Day Services programs are multilingual programs that offer social and recreational activities for people with physical or cognitive impairments. Individuals are cared for in a friendly and secure environment where we strive to keep everyone socially active and mentally and physically stimulated. The programs we offer also provide the opportunity for caregivers to have time to themselves and manage the stress of providing care. ***Individuals in this program (Frail Elderly Day Program) need to be referred by Community Care Access Centre (CCAC). ***Our service area is for Adult Day Services Programs is from Bloor Street to Lake Ontario, Roncesvalles Avenue to Yonge Street.

When: Monday to Friday: 8 a.m-8 p.m and Saturdays: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Cost is $22/day not including transportation. Subsidies are available.

Alzheimer Society of Toronto

Group Name: Alzheimer Society of Toronto

Description: The role of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto is to offer support, information and education to people with dementia, their families and their caregivers, to increase public awareness of dementia, to promote research, and to advocate for services that respect the dignity of the individual. http://www.alzheimertoronto.org/

There is a resource centre/library where books, brochures, articles, video and audio tapes are available for purchase or loan. A newsletter is published 3 times a year. Membership is available at $25/yr or $10/yr for students and seniors.
