Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Support – Caregivers Support Group

Group Name: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Support – Toronto Caregivers Support

Description: The mission of the ALS Canada is to fund research towards a cure for ALS and support provincial ALS Societies to provide quality care for those affected by ALS. People living with the disease become progressively paralyzed due to degeneration of the upper and lower motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Eighty per cent of people with ALS die within two to five years of diagnosis– unable to breathe or swallow. Ten per cent of those affected may live for 10 years or longer.

ALS Canada peer support group meeting for those living with ALS to share experiences and support. Support services are available to people diagnosed with ALS, their caregivers, family and friends.

When: Third Wednesday of every month from 7 PM – 9 PM.
