Description: Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a non-profit agency providing services that assist in the settlement and integration of immigrants and refugees. At CCS we serve all newcomers, refugees, and immigrants, regardless of race, colour, age, creed, religion or political affiliation.

Catholic Crosscultural Services provides individual, short term, solution focused counselling, crisis intervention, language specific group support services, and safety plan development for women of all ages who are experiencing domestic violence or abuse.

We assist women in obtaining Legal Aid Certificates (for 2 hours free consultation), and making applications for subsidized housing and financial assistance through Ontario Works. We also provide assistance to women on immigration, education and employment related issues, and information and referrals to other community services. *** Services are provided in five different languages: English, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi and Spanish. All services are free and confidential.

Mississauga Fibromyalgia Support

Group Name: Mississauga Fibromyalgia Support

Description: To provide meeting for members for information and emotional support. To offer coping strategies for individuals living with Fibromyalgia. Sometimes there are solutions to the problems, there is an opportunity to learn from each other and share experiences. There are guest speakers that attend some meetings and there is no cost to attend. Donations are accepted.

When: Meetings held the last Monday of the month. From January through May and starting from September through November. The meeting runs from 7:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m.

Recovery Canada

Group Name: Recovery Canada

Description: Recovery Canada is licensed to practice the Recovery Method by Recovery International and is recognized by the Canadian Government. We are non-profit, non-sectarian and completely member managed. Recovery International is a self-help mental health program based on the ground breaking work of our founder, the late Abraham A. Low, M.D., a neuropsychiatrist.

Dedicated to the aftercare of people suffering from nervous and emotional stress, panic disorders, depression, etc. Provides self-help groups to people suffering from nervous and mental disorders.

When: Optional membership fees are $21.00 per year. Recovery meetings are free although a collection is taken at each meeting; contributions are strictly voluntary. Meeting places are as follows:

Eden Place Outreach & Drop-In Centre

Group Name: Eden Place Outreach & Drop-In Centre

Description: Open since 1998, Eden Place is a peer-run community drop-in centre that also offers outreach peer support groups throughout the Region of Peel, to assist individuals in reaching the recovery goals. Anyone 16 years of age and over, who experiences mental health concerns can visit Eden Place for a variety of mental health services, including recreational peer support groups, WRAP programs, vocational support, and more.

Some of the groups they offer are Depression, Awareness & Understanding, Health & Wellness, Self-Esteem, Men’s Group and Coffee Talk. Please call ahead if interested in attending. The times and days are posted monthly online at their website. Must be over 16 years old to have access to these support services.
