Group Name: Bloor Information and Life Skills Centre (BILS) – Circle of Friends

Description: Bloor Information and Life Skills Centre (BILS) was founded in 1971 as a community based non-profit multi ethnic agency. They provide culturally sensitive services in Albanian, Bengali, Cantonese, English, Hindi, Mandarin, Spanish and Urdu. All of their services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. They are committed towards providing services in an environment which is free from discrimination and harassment.

This program is for disadvantaged long term residents who are Spanish-speaking (40-64), largely isolated from both English and Spanish speaking communities, and have low income.

They provide services on:

• Support from community-neighbours, peers and family
• Information and referral
• Group information sessions
• English communication skills (English classes)
• Benefits eligibility
• Information to community and government resources
