Description: The South Riverdale Community Health Centre (SRCHC) is a community-based organization that offers primary health care services and health promotion programs to a diverse community. We strive to respond to local issues and provide services in active partnership with our clients, patients, neighbours, community groups and professional organizations. SRCHC is funded by the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network.

We offer an 8-session support program for grandparents caring for grandchildren under the age of six years. Activities include: group discussions, and learning though games and interactive fun. Healthy snacks, are provided to all participants. Client information and learning needs inform the choice of topics. Examples include: Active living for seniors, healthy child development, family relationship, navigating the healthcare system, and many more. A Nurse Practitioner, Community Dietitian, Health Promoter and Social Worker plan and facilitate these topics. Childcare service is available to participants who needs it. Participants who lack transport facilitation may be eligible to receive TTC tokens. Individual consultation and service referrals are also available. Newcomers to Canada are very welcome! ***Grandparents with grandchildren under six. Priority is given to those living within service boundaries. Appointments and registration are required for this program. Languages: English, Mandarin, Cantonese.

Cangrands – Grandparents & Kinship Support

Group Name: Cangrands – Grandparents & Kinship Support

Description: CANGRANDS welcomes all grandparents and Kinship families who are raising grandchildren or extended family members to our home on-line. Our aim is to support grandmothers, grandfathers, and Kinship families to maintain or re-establishing family ties. CANGRANDS is a not-for-profit organization devoted to providing kinship support for caregiver families across Canada. Our members come from all walks of life and are committed to helping each other through encouragement, support and the sharing of information. There are two types of membership packages where one costs $25.00 and the other $10, annually.

Group Name: Grandparents Raising Grandchildren/Teenagers

Description: To bring together grandparents raising grandchildren to share information and provide each other with mutual support. Part of the Community since 1990.

Where: 509-14 Spadina Rd. | Toronto, ON M5R 3M4

When: Meetings are held the forth Sunday of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre at 200 Eglinton Avenue West.(No meetings in the summer, however telephone support is available). Meetings are currently on hold, but phone support is still available.
