Description: In the library, you can:

  • Find free pamphlets about healthy lifestyle choices, diseases, conditions, treatments and tests
  • Learn about health-related events and resources in your community
  • Read or borrow a book, video or CD from our consumer health library collection
  • Use our computers or iPad to access health information or stay in touch with friends and family members while you or your family member are in the hospital.

In addition to the materials we have in the library, we also provide tailored, health information packages. These searches are done just for you by our qualified consumer health librarians and information specialists. Anyone is welcome to borrow our books, videos or CDs. The first time you borrow, you will need to fill out a registration form and show valid identification, such as a Driver’s License or Hospital Card. Once you register with us, you may borrow from any of the UHN Patient & Family Libraries.

Description: Provides multi-lingual consumer health information to patients and their family.

  • You can borrow books, DVDs, CDs.
  • Free pamhlets and brochures on various health topics.
  • Tailered made health information search.
  • Organize monthly health talks for the public.
  • Outreach to the community to deliver health talks on Ontario health care system.
  • Collaborate with agencies to organize health fairs.
