LAMP Community Health Centre – Among Friends Program

Group Name: LAMP Community Health Centre – Among Friends Community Mental Health Program

Description: LAMP CHC is a multi-service, community based charitable organization that provides a wide range of programs and services to improve a person’s health. LAMP uses a co-ordinated approach to connect people to medical services and other programs that build personal resources. By providing services that improve physical, emotional, social and economic well being, people can better control their health and environment.

The Among Friends Program is a social/recreation program for adults who live with mental health challenges that have significantly affected their quality of life. At Among Friends we function on a model of recovery that focuses on health promotion, building friendships and the achievement of personal goals. The culture of our program relies on mutual respect of all of our members, staff, students and volunteers.

*** To qualify for admission into the Among Friends program you must be between the ages of 18 and 65, have a psychiatric diagnosis or be experiencing significant symptoms of emotional distress. As a program within LAMP Community Health Centre we also limit access to people living within the service delivery area. There are no fees to join or participate in this program.
