Description: They provide educational resources and support for families, persons with schizophrenia (Sz) and the general public. A professional crisis support worker is on call to help families with a severely mentally ill member who is in crisis. This service is available across (former Metro) Toronto, regardless of diagnosis.

Early Intervention Family Support at SSO
Families are often the first line of support for an individual living with mental illness. SSO offers a support program for families experiencing a first episode of psychosis. This program provides counseling, system navigation and information to family members to help ensure signs are identified quickly and they receive the best combination of services to assist loved ones in their recovery. Group Name: Schizophrenia Society of Ontario – Justice and Mental Health Program (JAMH)

Description: The Schizophrenia Society of Ontario makes a positive difference in the lives of people, families and communities affected by schizophrenia and psychotic illnesses. We envision a world without schizophrenia. For this to happen society must recognize schizophrenia as a serious brain disease, excellence in service and treatment must become the norm, stigma must be eliminated, and a cure must be found.

The Justice and Mental Health Program provides emotional and navigational support for families with a loved one who has a mental illness and has come in to contact with the criminal justice system. Their objective is to support families of people with mental illness who have come in contact with the law while promoting change in mental health and justice.
