Volunteer at sHRC

Who to contact?

The Self-Help Resource Centre's commitment to community development is defined by volunteer involvement. Without volunteers, the Self-Help Resource Centre would not be able to accomplish its goals.

Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and offer their skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Administrative Support - providing telephone reception for staff, and providing referrals for support groups (from our database) to information callers. Admin support can include: filing, database entry and maintenance, photocopying, word-processing and faxing/emailing for staff.
  •  Outreach - representing SHRC in various information fairs, contacting agencies to introduce our services.
  • Other areas where volunteers may assist: workshop facilitation, event planning and translation.
